In Chinese Metaphysics, our lives are ruled by the Trinity of Luck or the Cosmic Trinity.
It is essentially the relationship between heaven, earth and man.
Heaven Luck is our Destiny – it is predetermined at the time of birth, and there is very little we can alter this directly.
Your Destiny can be uncovered by a BaZi (Destiny Analysis); if you want it in more detail and with higher accuracy, Da Liu Ren.
This Destiny reading informs you of your strengths and weakness in your personality. It can predict the good times and the bad times. It reveals the particular aspects of your journey through life.
Earth Luck is your physical environment. It could be a prosperous and fertile area where it is wealthy, or it could be in a war-torn area with poverty and suffering.
Feng Shui is the Chinese methodology that provides the necessary information on the relevant factors that are essential to the environment for life.
Man Luck is you, the person going through the journey of life. You have a personality with your strengths and weaknesses. Your passage through life could be straightforward or a rocky ride with fortune together with misfortune.
The character of the person can be improved with the tools from Personality Development. This includes methods to develop self-awareness, mindset, fulfilling aspirations.
The inter-relationship in the Trinity of Luck.
Your Destiny is fixed, but Feng Shui and Personality Development can be used to help the person
overcome limitations in the personality. These two tools can guide you through the peaks and the troughs of life.
The types of problems in life’s journey.
This can sound complicated, so I will illustrate it with an example:
This is the Destiny of a grape seed which will grow into a grapevine. The resulting grapes are then used for the production of wine. It is the environmental factors (Terroir) that are a guide to the production of the desired wine. The wine has to be produced to a consistent standard.
There are two parts – the Duality of Luck
Heaven Luck
A grape seed can only grow to a grapevine. From my understanding of biology and horticulture, that is the only thing that the grape seed to grow to.
Earth Luck
For the grape seed to grow successfully to a grapevine, the environment has to be right.
The French winemakers, over the centuries, observed the differences in the wines from the different regions and vineyards. They developed the concept of Terroir, which details the various aspects necessary for the successful and consistent growth of the grapevine for wine. These elements included the climate, soil type, the typography of the land, influence of water etc.
Terroir is officially recognised as the basis of the French wine appellation d’origine contrôlée (AOC) system.
Therefore, if you alter the environment, you get a variation of the grape. This will lead to a different taste in the wine.
Suppose you change the essential elements of the grapevine.
For example,
The climate changed – the seedlings would struggle to grow
A different type of soil – The grape would produce a wine that will have a different flavour and texture
These are some examples of the alteration in the environment that can result in changes to the plant and the final product.
Referring back to humans and the trinity of luck
Similarly, there will be changes to the person when you alter the environment.
Feng Shui has defined a set of rules for a person’s well being. As above, the alteration will result in changes to the person.
So- how is feng shui used with your Destiny – standard methods used by many feng shui consultants,
Commentary:
Your Destiny is immutable. However, it can be altered using the tools of feng shui or person (Personal Development). These can be used to enhance or minimise the consequences of the BaZi reading.
The examples are illustrated below
A. Heaven Luck (BaZi) to Man Luck (Feng Shui)
- A destiny reading of a newborn baby had shown that the boy would have a weak character. He would be shy, withdrawn and would not stand up for himself at a later age. This would not be good in adult life.
With the aid of the feng shui consultant, they set up the house for “identity” for the boy. This is to give him confidence and develop his identity.
- A student was having difficulty passing his professional examinations for his professional career. The family checked his Destiny with a BaZi reading. They found that he would be entering a “bad phase” in his life and would not be able to get the qualifications. It would be lost or in distress.
So they arranged to feng shui the home. It was set up to help him pass the examinations, and they arranged for additional personal tuition. He qualified and had a professional career ahead of him.
B. From Heaven Luck (BaZi) to Man Luck (Person)
- A woman was at a “dead-end” at this stage of her life and hated it. All she did was work, but she was not appreciated and did not have any social life. So she sought a destiny chart for her future. It stated that she should move to a new environment and changes would happen.
She found a new job in a different town. She found the work rewarding, but she also found her life partner. They are now happily settled.
- A businessman was thinking about a life-changing investment opportunity. He called in a feng shui consultant who did BaZi Readings. The BaZi chart stated that there would be a good opportunity at this time of his life. The consultant also suggested making the feng shui of his house tailored to ensure the success of the investment.
The relationship between Earth Luck (Feng Shui) and Man Luck (Person)
This is a two-way relationship.
In the first part (C ) – the relationship between the Man Luck (person) to Earth Luck (feng shui) is well established. The person sets up the feng shui in his property to enhance various aspects like wealth, health or relationships.
The second part (D) is the relationship between Earth Luck (feng shui) and Man Luck (person). Feng Shui is not a “black box” where you set it up and leave it unattended.
The way Feng Shui works
Feng Shui acts as a magnifier of the aims or focus of the people on the property. In particular, the three types of energies are wealth, health and relationships.
Feng Shui does not give the person these three aspirations directly, like winning the lottery or getting an investment deal of a lifetime.
What it does is enhance the opportunities. The person has to be focused on realising these opportunities, grabbing them and then delivering the opportunities.
It is not about sitting back and going with the flow. It is the focus that can be developed with the tools of personal development – aspirations, visualisations and affirmations together with a positive mindset and the right attitude.
Therefore, the person has to be focused and consistent in the aims and deliver.
That is why people who are driven and focused get the most from feng shui. If your aims and objectives are all over the place, you get a reflection of what you have instructed the feng shui.
C. From Man Luck (person) to Earth Luck (feng shui)
- A lady had just broken off her relationship a year ago. She was ready to start another. She had the feng shui for relationships implemented on her property.
- A 30-year-old man was having sleep issues. When he woke up, it felt that he had not slept and he was “drowsy” for the rest of the day. He never felt well. He sought advice from a feng shui consultant.
D. From Earth Luck (feng shui) to Man Luck (person)
- She had wanted that promotion for ages. She had the feng shui of her home but that did not secure the promotion no matter how hard she tried to impress her bosses. To prepare for the next round of promotions, she prepared herself by using personal development methods like affirmations, visualisation and well as enhancing her feng shui of her home. Yes, she got the promotion and now, head of the department that she so wanted.
- He had embarked on this project, but it was rough going. He was very sloppy in this project. He thought that he could get away with the feng shui of the property and let the project run by itself. Seeing the problems with the project, after consulting his family, he decided to concentrate on the successful project with timely delivery. Taking the advice from his wife, he had the home feng shuied with a different consultant who recommended the use of personal development methods.
He focussed his energies on the project together with the various tools from personal development. The project was completed on the new schedule.
The most powerful influence on Feng Shui is the people on the property. Feng Shui is an enhancer. If you are focused on your objectives, you will achieve your objectives. If you keep changing your objective or vague on exactly what you want, you get what you want – very little, scatty results.
