living room

The living room is usually the largest within the property. It is the place where the family spend time together and entertain guests.

For each property, it is either at the front or the rear of the property.

At the Front: The windows open outwards to the front and the road.

The outlook of the family is towards the world – the outside for their development. They become extrospective or have an outward looking and expanding mindset.

At the Back: The living room will have windows and a patio door to the back garden.

The outlook of the family is towards themselves. They will seek comfort and development from themselves. They become more introspective or an inward and narrow mindset.

From my experiences from visiting many properties, I have not seen a living room cover both the front and the back. Usually, the living room is in front with the dining room at the rear overlooking the garden at the rear.

When the property has several floors, the living room is on the ground floor. However, there are some properties where the living room is above the bedroom. This is usually to make the most of the views.

From the Feng Shui point of view, it is not the ideal situation, but again, that is how the owners what, and that is why they chose the property.
