Tale of two towns in Kent– Whitstable and Margate. (Part 2)

A study of two towns on the north coast of Kent. Both have long histories behind them, but one is affluent and the other has high unemployment and is in need of regeneration. Why?

Part 2 Let us look at Margate.

Margate is a seaside town on the North Kent coast. It was a significant maritime port since the Middle Ages and was part of the Cinque Ports of the 15^th Century.

The Town has high unemployment and relies on Tourism. The Dreamland Amusement Park was re-opened in 2015 and is an added attraction for the Town.

The question is, how did Margate come to this situation?

Feng Shui Analysis

The 180-year cycle comprises nine 20 year cycles. Each cycle is known as a Period. Each Period has predominant energy.

Margate can receive the auspicious energy from the compass directions and their respective periods of prosperity.

West - 1984 to 2004 (Period 7),

Margate has a limited amount of flat land for the energy to settle. It has higher land, which is not receptive to hold the energy.

Secondly, the water flows from the River Thames and the North Sea. The water flows are not directed at Whitstable. It is just flowing past the Town. The energy just passes by.

As energy does not settle, there is no prosperity to the Town at this time.
