Feng shui Life aspirations formula

The Feng Shui Life Aspirations formula was first published by Lillian Too in her vast series of books on Feng Shui in the 1990s.

The basis of this formula is the LoShu square with the properties of the PaKua.

Origins of the Feng Shui Life Aspirations Formula:

Sarah Rossbach, in 1984, wrote the book – "Feng Shui – The Chinese Art of Placement". It was the work of Lin Yun, a priest who practised Black Hat Sect Buddhism in Hong Kong. It created a storm and a following in the United States (USA).

This knowledge spread from the USA to the UK, Europe, Australia and the rest. Students flocked to the USA to learn.

This formula was a simple nine-grid Lo Shu square, with each square having different characteristics. Three particular squares were positioned at the front of the property. This method was known as the Triple Gate formula. This was the beginning of "Contemporary Western Feng Shui".

Seeing the spread of "Contemporary Western Feng Shui", Lillian Too in Malaysia in the mid-1990s started to write books on "Classical Chinese Feng Shui", including formulae like Feng Shui Life Aspirations, Eight Mansions and Flying Star.

Lillian Too's feng shui writing career took off when she wrote the book "Complete Illustrated Guide to Feng Shui". This book sold more than 7 million copies worldwide.

The Feng Shui Life Aspirations Formula is based on the nine-grid Lo Shu square. Each of the grid squares has properties defined in the PaKua.

Many from the "Contemporary Western Feng Shui" community have argued it is a derivative of Lin Yun's Triple Gate Formula.

The is the sequence of events – which came first?

  • The theory of the LoShu and the PaKua are Chinese teachings described in ancient documents.
  • Lin Yun and the Triple Gate Formula – published in a book in 1984. The LoShu square is used as a template with nominated squares facing the front of the property.
  • Feng Shui Life Aspirations Formula has a static floor plan like the Triple Gate Formula, but the interpretations are from the LoShu and the PaKua.

The Feng Shui Life Aspirations Formula:

This formula has a grid of the LoShu square. There are nine equal segments. Each segment has the characteristics of the PaKua.

The PaKua used is the Later Heaven Sequence which has yang properties. It relates the compass direction to an element, members of a family of 8, colour, trigrams and many other bits of relevant information.

Feng Shui Life Aspirations Formula.
The Feng Shui Life Aspirations Formula consists of nine squares. Each with a compass direction (location) and an element. The interpretations are from each element.

The Method:

To use the Life Aspirations Method in a room.

  1. Identify the North direction with a compass.
  2. Overlay the above plan with the North direction that you have just determined.
  3. The other sectors can be identified from the above chart.
  4. The principle of using the method: If you want a enhance particular luck, you activate the element of that specific square or sector. More details of the application are below.
  5. For example, if you want to enhance your wealth luck, the Southeast sector is for Wealth Aspiration, which has the wood element. To activate it, place a money plant (wood element) in this location. Also, you can use green colour to enhance this aspiration.

There are derivative interpretations of this formula. Vendors of Chinese symbols have used this formula to sell these items as symbols of good fortune. As a result, it is widely publicized for its simplicity and ease of use.

The Feng Shui Life Aspirations Formula:

This is to achieve your aspirations using the Feng Shui Life Aspirations Formula.

The most common place to implement this formula is the living room. This is because the living room has more space and, most importantly, is used by all the residents.

This method fulfils the basic requirements of Feng Shui as it uses Energy (Qi), Yin Yang, Five Elements, Lo Shu and PaKua. However, It does not have the dynamic flow of energy (Qi) as it is a static method.

The Feng Shui Life Aspirations Formula describes the characteristic of energy (Qi) in that particular location and describes methods to enhance it.

The Application of the Feng Shui Life Aspirations Formula in detail:

Feng Shui Life Aspirations Formula.
A Money Plant. Note the thickness of the leaves.

Aspiration: Wealth

Directional Location: Southeast

To identify the Southeast location. First, determine the North direction from your compass. The South direction is opposite to the North. The Southeast location is the area to the left of the South. This is the area in that we are carrying out the activation for Wealth aspiration.

Element: Yang Wood

According to the Feng Shui Life Aspirations Formula, the element for this location is Yang Wood or big Wood. The best activation is with an object that is a live plant or miniature tree. A live tree grows with time. Growth is the symbol of your wealth.

Bonsai trees and other miniature plants are not recommended. These plants are prevented from growing. Wealth is about growth.

Activation: Plant with thick leaves like the Money plant

The Chinese have used the Money plant as a symbol of a wealth tree as the leaves are really thick. This gives rise to the "expression" of money growing on trees. Secondly, the money tree flowers after about ten years. So the expression states that it will flower when you have made your fortune or a fortune is coming your way.

To enhance yang Wood: Flowing water – with a water feature

It is a common observation; once the direction is set by your mind, you will get the result. A tangible image of your aim is imprinted in your mind. To reinforce this memory, you have to see a relevant image regularly.
