Sarastro, a Destination Restaurant in London’s Covent Garden
Dr. Michael Oon
Sarastro Restaurant is in London’s Covent Garden. It is in the heart of the West End’s Theatre Land. It is known as "the show after the show".
Visually, it has been described “Be prepared for a visual onslaught reminiscent of a Turkish bazaar: generous swathes of silk and reems of velvet, tantalising lacy drapes and exquisitely rich Persian rugs hung or draped in every conceivable fashion. Look closer and you’ll find influences from the Renaissance, and hints of the heart of Africa.”
It seats 200 covers and it is known to have 3 full sessions in the evening – early evening (before the shows); evening (during the shows) and late evening (after the shows). The shows refer to the shows in nearby Covent Garden’s Theatres.
There is now different entertainment on various nights of the week. The performers play to a full house.
Sarastro is unique and this makes it a destination restaurant. There are no restaurants nearby. It has been at this location for more than 20 years. This is a true destination restaurant.
Feng Shui Analysis
Sarastro Restaurant is at a crossroad – Kemble Street, Drury Lane and Russell Street. It is this junction that provides the necessary energy suitable for the restaurant to operate successfully.
Within the restaurant, there are design elements that manage the energy to slow down.
