Kuching – Malaysia’s City of Culture
Dr. Michael Oon
In the coming years, for Period 9 – Kuching will develop even faster. It will become Malaysia's City of Culture.
Kuching is a city in Malaysian Borneo. It is on the Northwest of the island of Borneo and the capital of the state of Sarawak.
The City of Kuching is on a river estuary and one of Malaysia's best kept secrets.
The culture of Kuching has been thoroughly documented on Wikipedia and in 2021, Kuching received the award - UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy.
For this coming years, I would expect to see Kuching develop faster and further. Probably, by 2050, it will be totally unrecognisable.
Why do I say that?
Feng Shui Analysis:
In Period 9, energy comes from the South. In this case, from the nearby hills. This energy moves through the City and gets reflected back by the sea. Hence, the energy is held in Kuching City.
The red line shows the hills surrounding Kuching. The blue line is of the rivers. Both the red and blue lines are the boundary where the energy is held within Kuching.
The quality of Period 9 Energy. This energy is about food, entertainment and culture. This is exactly what Kuching is about.
There will be a very lively food scene with even more good and interesting restaurants based on the indigenous culture, surrounding regional influences and local creativity. This was amply demonstrated when we visited the Kuching Food Festival.
Kuching will really blossom in the coming decades. It will no longer be Malaysia's best-kept secret.
