Feng Shui in the Living Room – Layout

Single-Family-Homes-Sales

The main furniture of the Living Room is based on the following:

  • Sofa
  • Side Chairs
  • Coffee Table

There are other accessories like a sideboard, Entertainment Hub (including Television), storage units.

The most important piece of furniture is the sofa. It is not only the largest, but it is the centrepiece of the whole room. The sofa should occupy the command position of the room.

The common position is the outstanding location of the room. Once you see the empty room, you will know exactly where it is. It is the central and most commanding position in the room.

This is where the energy will flow to.

When you sit in the command position, you will see the rest of the room.

The side chairs are positioned to be opposite or adjacent to the sofa. This is to allow people to converse easily without being confrontational.

A coffee table is that the centre of this sofa and chair positioning. The main purpose of the coffee table is obviously to provide a place for the coffee or whatever is served.

The TV has to be positioned so that there it can be viewed easily from either the sofa or the chairs.

The layout of the room depends very much on the design of the room, the location of the entrance door, windows and possibly the patio or external door.

The other pieces of furniture can include display cabinets and storage units.

There are other considerations in the layout

A Focal point and centre. These are not feng shui considerations.
