Is Feng Shui used by Major Corporations in the West?

Feng Shui might be big in the Far East, but is it used in the West? The main point is – Do the Successful corporation in the West use it?

There are quite a number of corporations in both the UK and North America that have had feng shui implemented in their head office and other branches. The main reason these corporations have not publicised feng shui is because of Non-Disclosure Agreements. Feng Shui has always been used as a Tool for Competitive Advantage.

An example of Competitive Advantage has been the public proclamation by the rulers in China, both modern and past. They had banned or discouraged the use of feng shui but privately, the use it.

Let us go through the list of corporations that use feng shui:

Tesco – UK's largest retailer.

In the 1990s, Tesco had the ambition to become UK's largest retailer. It had its new offices in Cheshunt designed with Feng Shui together with a number of their superstores. These superstores either faced South or West and had a unique layout in their car parks. Their entrance doors were always left open for the energy to enter easily, but in the 2010s, it was decided to have automatic door openers to save on the heating bills.

Canary Wharf – London's Second Financial Centre

This development was designed with feng shui from the start. This Financial Centre has head offices of international banks major media businesses with offices for about 300,000 workers. It is very well connected to the rest of the UK and the world with its own transport links – road, trains and airport (London City Airport).

Costco stores – in North America and UK.

Costco is the third-largest retailer in the world

The design of the stores follows a particular template – with the entrance at the corner and the particular location of the offices and kitchen. This design was carried out with the assistance of a feng shui consultant.

Starbucks Coffee Shops – North America and Europe, including UK

Starbucks is the largest coffee house chain in the world

Starbucks Coffee Shops are usually at street junctions or intersections. This is where the best energy for coffee shops is. This has been so successful for Starbucks that, in some US cities, there can be up to 3 Starbucks at the same road intersection. All three Starbucks have different types of clientele.

Walmart in Bentonville, Arkansas, United States

Walmart is the largest retailer in the world.

In the 1970s, the then small town of Bentonville had various feng shui features added to the town layout. The Walmart Head office was designed with feng shui as well as their stores. Most of their stores face East, and there are a number of unique features in the car park layout.

Bentonville is now a bustling city with many offices of suppliers to Walmart. Also, the city also supplies Walmart with other facilities.

I could go on to list further corporations in the other parts of the world, including the Middle East, South East Asia and the Far East. A point of interest is the number of successful corporations that are based in the State of Washington. There are two listed above – Costco and Starbucks. But, when you look at the list of legendary corporates that dominate the world in their sector of business, you would be surprised. This includes Microsoft, Amazon amongst others.

I have worked on a number of businesses in the UK, and I was called in on the 2nd round. Initially, they had just looked up the website or a directory and chose a consultant without going too deeply into the background. The main reason for feng shui is results, and this is tangible with the business – were the targets achieved? I have helped business owners to meet or exceed the targets.
