  1. The bed is the centre of “purpose of the bedroom". The bedroom is the place where you sleep in peace so that you are refreshed for the next day.

2. Position the head of the bed against the wall.

3. If it is an internal wall, make sure that the WC is not on the other side of the bed.

4. Do not place you bed beneath a window, against the radiator or under the draft of the air conditioner.

5. Doors – The bed should not be in line with the door be it facing the corridor or the en-suite bathroom.

6. Ceilings: The ceiling has to be even or flat. There should be no ceiling beams, different levels, uneven designs

Bed

7. The bed is to have a “solid head board”.

8. The bed meant for sleeping has to have a regular shape – like rectangle. Circular or other fancy shapes are not recommended.

9. Mattress – have a solid and firm mattress preferable with a natural material or with springs. A water mattress is a definite negative

10. It is preferred the bed clothes be of natural material – it absorbs sweat better than synthetic materials.

11. There has to be gap between the bed and the floor.

12. For a single bed – one mattress and one set of bed clothes

13. For a double bed – one mattress and one set of bed clothes.

Bed placement

14. The preferred direction for the person, is based on the best directions based on your kua number.

15. A single bed can be placed again the wall as only one person leaves the bed.

16. For a double bed, the 2 persons need their own way to get out of the bed. Both sides of the bed have to be clear or not against the wall.

Colours

17. The feng shui recommendation colour of the room is based on your kua number and its element.

18. This recommendation can also apply to the colour of the bed clothes.

19. It should be remembered that feng shui is about balance. You do not want one extreme to another. For example, if water is your element and the associated colour is black, you cannot have the room painted black with black bed clothes. This is too yin and too impractical. What you do is to have designs where the primary colour is black with a much lighter background colour.

Others

20. Do not have live plants in the bedroom. It is not good for you.

21. Do not have water features or aquarium in the bedroom. It does give you feng shui benefit.
