The main purpose of Feng Shui in the bedroom is to help you have a better sleep. Once rested properly, you will be ready and well set up for the next day.

Some Do’s and Don’ts in the application of Feng Shui in the Bedroom.

Do’s

  1. Considered placement of bed

The bed is the focus of the bedroom. Here are some suggestions on where to place the bed.

2. Thoughtful Room Layout

The placement of furniture and incidentals around the room.

3. Personalised Colours

Each person has a different recommended colour.

4. Personalised Compass Directions for Beds https://michaeloon.com/feng-shui-bed-directions/

The bed is positioned to point in a particular compass direction for better sleep.

5. Aspirational and Inspirational Images

An Image like this is so uplifting.

6. Mirror

Ensure that the mirror does not reflect the sleeping body.

7. Ceiling

The ceiling is to kept flat and level. This is to allow the even and smooth flow of energy around the room. The disrupted flow of energy does not help good sleep.

8. Considered Lighting – the lighting should be functional. The lights should be dimmable.

Don’ts

  1. Imbalance – too yang or too yin

Feng Shui is about balance – harmony with nature. The bedroom must not be too extreme too yang or too yin. It has to be at the mid-point so that you can have a good sleep.

2. Clutter

Clutter is things left all over the place. Items left on the floor is just a reflection of you – messy. You get better thinking and better living when there is no clutter.

3. Neat and Tidy

There is always a place for everything. Once you know where it is, you do not have to spend time looking for the item. So much energy and time has been wasted looking for misplaced things.

4. Space

Space is limited in the bedroom. Use it wisely. Most bedrooms that I have visited could use their space more efficiently.

5.Clothes

Clothes outside the wardrobe should be hung on a hanger or in the laundry basket. It should not be lying around like on the floor or the furniture. In my opinion, clothes can be displayed when you are working out what to wear or in preparation for the next day.

6. Sharp edges

Sharp edges emanate Sha Qi. Do be careful about putting shelves or cupboards with sharp edges.

7. Negative Images

030 agression

As discussed above, negative images are not encouraged.

8. Plants and water in the bedroom

Plants and flowers are not encouraged in the feng shui of the bedroom.

Flowing water in water features and fish in aquarium.  There is no Feng Shui benefit in the implementation of these items in the bedroom.
